ILLEGAL LINEUPS
Lineups may only ever be illegal due to a trade. By the following scoring period (Or Monday in the offseason) the lineup must be made legal again.
TRANSACTIONS
This is a weekly lineup league with FAAB. Each team will have $100 FAAB to spend. The minimum bid is $0.00 and process runs on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun mornings.
II. MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS
FARM SYSTEM
• Owners can have up to 20 Minor League players in their farm system.
• Minor League players are players who have not exceeded rookie eligibility rules, which is 130 regular season career AB or 50 regular season career IP.
• Minor League players who have achieved 130 AB or 50 IP will need to be moved from the minor league system
Minor league players may be activated and returned to the minors any time prior to them achieving those thresholds.
III Player Pool
The player pool will be locked each year at the start of the first draft, to help ensure that each year's draft are meaningful.
The exception to this will that each team will receive it's major league counterpart's first pick each June Amateur draft. Subsequent draft picks and international signings will available the following league draft.
If a team's first pick does not sign, you will get their first signed pick.
If it ever happens that a player is in the Fantrax pool that shouldn't be, he is ineligible to be picked up. If he is, then he can be removed by the commissioner with no compensation. A team can not select any current year draftees (either international or amateur). These players are to be in the following year's draft only.
Add/Drops
Add/drops will lock at the end of the season until after the drafts are completed.
Drafts
There will be a minor league draft and a major league draft every year. Each team will draft until their rosters are full. Only minor league eligible players can be drafted in the minor league draft (under 130 AB or 50 ip). Players drafted must be in the fantrax database.
IV Keepers/ Trades
• The League keeper policy is 10 major league players and up to 20 minor league players.
• After the keeper deadline, trading will close until after the drafts
TRADES
• All trades will be subject to commissioner approval, which will not be unreasonably denied, except in cases of possible collusion or where in the commissioner's best judgment there is a huge misunderstanding on one owner’s part. In that case it is the commissioner's obligation to give information only and then let the trade proceed if owners are still inclined.
"DUMP TRADES" It is understood in this keeper league, that there will be times when it is in a team's best interest to sell current value for future value. This will not be frowned upon. For your own likely best return, and for the opportunity of all other members of the league, you MUST post your intention to sell, at least 24 hrs before any trades are accepted. Your post will be valid for 14 days upon which time you will need to repost.
Trading of Draft Picks is allowed for the following year only. You must pay the next year's league dues prior to trading such picks.
V League Votes
Any suggestions for rule changes are greatly appreciated. In our proboards forum, there is a section designated solely for this purpose. In an effort to keep our league communication as clean as possible, please only use this forum for your suggestions. Any suggestions with at least 10 owners agreeing in the forum will automatically be discussed and voted upon after the seasons end. There will be no voting in season. A 2/3 Majority will be required to change any league rules.
VI Owner's Responsibilities
All owners will be required to participate fully in the league and its proboards forum. While 30 fully active owners may unrealistic, it nonetheless is the goal of this league. This is not a league for the half-interested.
Failure to set lineup at any time may result in a warning. Repeated warnings will eventually result in replacement and forfeiture of the league dues. If there are personal circumstances preventing full participation, you need to let your commissioner know.
Failure to respond to league communication will result in the same process.
VII Competitive Clause:
All teams must make every effort to win each week's contest. Failure to do so hurts the integrity of the league.
Examples of intentional tanking include but are not limited to the following:
-DL players in active roster spot
-Minor league player in active roster spot
-Hitters or pitchers deliberately benched to help lower total points for the week.
If a team is suspected of doing this (in most cases it will be clear when searching lineup moves), the commissioner will send a warning to that team via email. A second violation will result in the team dropping ten spots in the following year's draft order (for major league and minor league drafts).
A third violation will result in the team dropping to the last overall picks in the following years drafts, or just removal from the league at discretion of commissioner, based on communication with the manager.
